Giovanna Belossi, Caterina De Nicola, Daniel Kurth and Alan Schmalz.
The exhibition brings together current works by four artists who share an interest in language and writing as material. Here, writing and language mostly appear as found objects that are varied and placed in new contexts. This also involves the re-appropriation of words, sentences and (written) images that have become commodified as brands, slogans or sales pitches. Letters (and therefore the world) can always be rearranged. New text or non-text is created, or the text is omitted. The title quotes a visual poem by Claus Bremer from the 1960s, which refers to empty spaces and the unspeakable, to the mediated and the immediate, just as the works in the exhibition do.
With Giovanna Belossi, Caterina De Nicola, Daniel Kurth and Alan Schmalz.
Curated by Raffael Dörig, Director Kunsthaus Langenthal and Marius Quiblier, Assistant Curator Kunsthaus Langenthal.
