Repair Café

A Repair Café is an organ­ised event where vis­i­tors can bring along broken items from home and repair them with the help of volunteers.

Time and again, prod­ucts end up in the bin that have only minor faults and could be repaired with rel­a­tively little effort. In many cases, repair is not con­sid­ered because the costs are too high, or man­u­fac­tur­ers claim it is not pos­si­ble. The ‘Repair Café’ event acts as a coun­ter­bal­ance to man­u­fac­tur­ers’ prac­tices of planned obso­les­cence and the throw­away culture.

Repairs are free of charge. Tools can be used free of charge.

Our ser­vice is funded exclu­sively through vol­un­tary dona­tions. Your vol­un­tary con­tri­bu­tion, once the repair has been car­ried out – and hope­fully suc­cess­fully – helps us to con­tinue organ­is­ing these events in the future.

You can pass any wait­ing time with coffee and cake in the Kun­sthaus bistro.
